Socialist A or Socialist B?
I can’t even say that McCain is less bad than Obama. It’s hard to say, and it depends entirely on the weights you give each of their terrible positions.
I would like to point out, however, that John McCain is also a socialist. My proof? For one, he voted in favor of the $700 billion bailout package. And if that weren’t enough, watch this video.
The girl here is amazing. To get up in front of so many people socialists and equate our form of taxation to slavery speaks a lot for her character.
But McCain’s response is just dumb. And terrible. After dancing around the issue for a while, his final answer is telling: “So, look, here’s what I really believe, that when you are — reach a certain level of comfort, there’s nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.”
I’ve said it before, but I don’t know how any principled individual can vote for either of the two candidates and keep a clear conscience.

sorry, im not meaning to come onto your blog out of nowhere and be argumentative, but im guessing you want people reading your posts and thinking about what you said…especially when its posted on facebook, so i guess im really not that sorry.
Now, i do agree with you that Obama and McCain both are not ideal. And im not even going to get into who i think is a better choice because i would surely be here all day, as i am very educated in both candidates (as well as all of the minor party candidates). That being said, you say in the post that you linked back to that “a vote for one would still be an endorsement.” I heavily disagree with you here. I would say if there is nothing good about either the republican or democratic candidate, than you should vote for a minor party candidate that you agree with more. Regardless of how likely it is that they actually have a chance of winning. Its not an endorsement, its a right to vote and you should be happy to exercise that right even if the person you vote for is the winner of “eeny meeny miney mo.”
You then said, “and I value my principles too highly to sanction any form of evil.” Hmmm, let me be so bold to say that not voting, and assuming that no one running could better the situation of the country is pretty arrogant of you. Do you really think that youre smarter or more reasonable than the candidates let alone hundreds of millions of americans and their collective opinions on them? REALLY? If that is indeed the case than i suggest you get ready to run when youre 42, or else move out of the country, no?
Again im not trying to argue with you, just sharing my thoughts.

Alright, I’ll say that McCain leaves A LOT to be desired as POTUS. I don’t know that I’d go so far as calling him a socialist, but you have a valid point. I think I could agree that he is socialist-lite. But I would argue that lord Obama is NOT a socialist. He is an outright communist. Because I don’t feel like typing a lot right now, I’ll keep my explanation simple. The socialist mantra is “from each according to his/her ability, to each according to his/her work”, which kind of implies that in a pure socialist state, you can still get ahead (a little) through hard work. Commies modify that mantra & say, “from each according to his/her ability, to each according to his/her need.” This removes all incentive to work, as someone else will provide for you (don’t ask me who that someone is though). Now, think about the answer that beloved leader maobama made to “Joe the plumber” a few weeks ago. I think that comment was more in line with the commie mantra than the socialist mantra, ergo, Obama is a commie-pinko @%@$%^%^.
Couple that with the cult following that he has amongst his mindless minions and he appears to be a chocolate Jim Jones. The big difference is that Jim Jones never had the USA’s nuclear codes.
A communist, quasi-sociopath in the most powerful seat in the world is scary. Having McCain in that same seat is far from ideal, call it uncomfortable.
I’d prefer to be uncomfortable rather than scared. I’d also rather try to convince McCain of the error of his ways than try to convince Obama. Yes, McCain is a stubborn & hard-headed SOB, but I think that there is a MUCH better chance of him being reasonable, so I’d rather have him as POTUS.

I suppose we should have wasted our on Ron Paul. What’s the difference between a liberterian and an anarchist?
