Own an Apple product? Then you must love gay people!
October 31st, 2008 by Brandon
Apple recently donated $100,000 to fight Proposition 8 in California. I guess that means that if you own an iPod, iPhone, or any of the other iProducts made by Apple, you have indirectly supported gay marriage.
While you’re at it, stop using Google, Yahoo, Cisco, Microsoft, and Ebay, to name a few.

Using that logic, the same must hold true for anyone buying a ticket to 95% or more of the movies starring 95% or more of the Hollywood actors who have also donated considerable money and time to this effort.
We can all probably find many other things that we use and take advantage of in our daily lives that are products or services manufactured or provided by people who we don’t necessarily agree with on many political and even moral issues. If we are totally dogmatic and use such logic as the criterion for making decisions as to what we buy and how we shop, we will probably have to do without most of the necessary basics, as well as more enjoyable things of life in today’s age. In other words, we’ll probably be pretty miserable and not a whole lot of fun to be around.
Prudence, wisdom, idealism and reality must have a balance in the world in which we all exist. Being in the world, but not of the world is how that balance is best defined.
Incidentally Brandon, I know, and have known at least a couple of gay people during my lifetime, some of whom I consider very close friends and who I care about a great deal. It’s not the sinner that poses the concern in this particular matter, but rather the nature of the sin that would be imposed on society by changing such a God-given standard.

I was being sarcastic, Dad.
