Only at Wal-Mart

You’ve probably read my praises of Wal-Mart, but that doesn’t mean it lacks its quirks (a euphemism for “negative aspects”).

Late last night, in order to collect boxes in preparation for the big move, I went to Wal-Mart while they were in the process of stocking their shelves. I had to wait around for a long time — apparently, there’s no stocking manager that can tell all their employees, “Hold some boxes for a customer. He’ll come pick them up at such-and-such-a-time.” You just have to be there and pick them up as the workers are doing their jobs.

Anyway, as I was waiting around, this woman came walking by me. She was young and seemingly normal looking, but she had a baby blanket draped over her…

While pushing the her shopping cart with her right hand, she was holding her baby and nursing it with the other.

She had herself covered, but I just laughed and thought, “Only at Wal-Mart.”
